What a difference a day makes

This was the face I saw this morning when I arrived at the hospital. He looks SO much better than he did yesterday. He was just plain miserable.
They are continuing to give him racemic epi nebs and IV steroids, which has made a huge difference in the coughing and all of the stuff that was pouring out of his nose. He still didn't seem like he was interested in very much activity, but I brought up his favorite piano. Of course it wouldn't be a hospital stay without the ever so famous "crinkly paper." He loves kicking it with his feet. Hours of entertainment!Today I'm grateful for:

Progress

A shower

Being able to go home last night and rest while my Mom stayed at the hospital until midnight.

Having my Sister-in-law and home nurse beside me yesterday at the ER.

The super cool Intensivist (hospital doctor) working today.

Wow, that face would turn anyone's day around! Isaac always has the best smiles! And he is such a fighting little man to smile like that while he is going through all this.

I am glad you are seeing progress and you got a chance to rest. Thanks for the updates.

Still praying...

I love this update! I also love what you are grateful for- it brough tears to my eyes- I think because I can truly relate to those things that seem "so simple" yet are so easy to take for granted. You are an amazing mom. Stay strong!

I was dubbed "the devoted Grandma last night from Isaac's PICU nurses for staying until after midnight, though I was hungry and tired. I thought my days were over for sitting up with a sick child after my child was grown, but I was wrong! Gammy's still are needed. without pay, without much recognition, but with lots of love and a sense of accomplishment that your grandchild will be much better for it.

Hope to see you home soon, little man!

Love, your Gammy
