No Doubt About It

During Isaac's first year we didn't get a lot of interaction from him because, well he was just trying to survive. it wasn't until he was almost a year old that he started to look at his "peeps" and smile. I'll never forget the day I was rocking him in the rocking chair and he finally looked up at me directly and gave me a purposeful grin. I cried. Since I wanted him to recognize me as someone important, I started talking to him in my "funny voice." Anyone who has been to my house or knows me well knows "the voice." Yes, I sound like a crazy lady, but when he hears that voice coming he lights up like a Christmas tree. My daughter rolls her eyes sometimes because there are days where I catch myself talking that way to the rest of the family.

We have been very fortunate with Isaac's favorite nurse L who works in the mornings so that I can get things done and collect myself. He loves her to pieces, but when I walk into the room I can tell that he knows that I'm somebody special. I don't know if I will ever hear him say "I love you" vocally, but I never doubt that he does. I don't ever doubt that he knows that I'm his Mommy. I don't doubt that he knows that I would go to the moon and back for him. Sometimes a smile with a sparkle in the eyes is more than a simple "I love you." He doesn't have to tell me. I just know.

I found the lyrics to this song by Meaghan Smith the other day from another blog.

It's in our hello

In the way your smile glows
And it's in our good bye

In the tear in your eye

And all in between

When you're lookin' at me

I know, I know, I know

What you don't say

It shimmers through
In the things you do

When you write me a note

And send it by the post

What you might not sign
On that bottom line

I know, I know, I know

What you don't say

Words are not needed

And though my ears

Could be misled

My heart can hear instead

What goes unsaid

You'll leave me with this

A hug and a kiss
And that little phrase

Those three words

You can't say

But please don't feel blue

Cause I always knew

And I know, I know, I know

And I love you too

I can definitely vouch for that! He loves to smile and wave at most of us he recognizes, but when Mama walks in the room and she talks to him, he lights way up. I also, love how he gets so tickled about some things and laughs hard at us. Yep...that's my silly, sweet grandson!

Love, Gammy

So cute! I bet Isaac loves his Momma a ton! And, the crazy, silly voice....we do that over here too! I will do this with Gavin when he is 30, if I get the chance! It makes him happy and me too! Hugs!!!
