Today the speech therapist, teacher and tech guy came to the house to discuss communication devices for mr. man. It was very interesting to me. I'm so fascinated with how far we've come with technology for disabled children. There's so many different options that are available based on the child's ability. Although the Ipad seemed like a super cool idea, we decided on what would work for "him" cognitively and with his hand limitations. We decided it would be best to try out the Go Talk 4 and see how he does. Then maybe later down the road we can look into the Ipad option.
Isaac started getting that lovely smelly sock smell coming from his right ear (pew), so we had to go to the dr. yesterday to get a script for ear drops. I'm afraid he will have to go outpatient sometime soon to check out those ear tubes now that his Potassium levels are back to normal. On a positive note, we took him to the eye dr. today and he no longer needs to have his tear ducts reopened. After being on eye drops and ointment for awhile the eye crust has disappeared and his eyes are all cleared up. So that's one less thing to worry about!

Well yay on the communication device and tear ducts, but boo on the sock ear. LOL!!
Poor guy! I'm glad things seem to be going well overall, though!
Great news about his eyes! Not so hot about his ear. I hope the communication device opens up a whole new world for him!
